Structure of the Library

DEPARTMENT OF FUND ACQUISITION AND SCIENTIFIC PROCESSING OF THE DOCUMENTS WITH THE SECTION OF CATALOGUING
 
The department provides services  from 9.00 till 18.00
Days off: Saturday, Sunday
The last day of the month is a sanitary day
The Head of the Section : Hytyk Valentyna Ivanivna
    The sector systematically provides compiling and recompiling the Library’s stock of books with scientific, educational and other literature, author’s studies and periodical editions according to the plan. The members of the sector revise the library stock  and register new arrivals. The basic data for the electronic catalogue ABIS “IRBIS-64” is being created.
      The Library  receives about 5 thousand volumes of new reading material every year. The annual subscription to periodicals numbers more than 230 titles of journals and 12 titles of newspapers.
READING ROOM FOR PROFESSORS AND LECTURERS 
Service hours: 9.00-18.00
Days off: Saturday, Sunday
The last day of the month is a sanitary day
 
        Research workers, lecturers, postgraduates, doctorates, hospital doctors, internists, bachelors make use of the Reading Room. More than 800 users have been registered.
        The subscribers of the Reading Room can work with valuable editions and new arrivals of periodical literature

The Head of the Section – Chapara Marina Illivna
The Library of Bucovinian State Medical University has become a member of the Corporative Catalogue System of Medical Libraries since January 2014. Thus, articles from medical journals are coded according to the rules of the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine, which takes less time and facilitates the work in the sector. As a result, the opportunity appeared to create a data basis for books in the electronic catalogue. It shortens the time for introducing a laminated reader’s card.

The Head of the Section – Schyrenkova Alina Oleksandrivna
The reference room of periodicals, manuscripts and catalogues was opened on the 1st of March, 2011. The journal fund amounts to 120 thousand copies, more than 1000 dissertations.
             Almost 3 thousand users are attended to. Annually about 30 public measures are held by the efforts of the staff: Days of information, courses for young scientists on the fundamentals of the library, discussions on psychological issues and the like.

The Head of the Section – Zhuk Natalia Romanivna
        The main area of focus is a dynamic, high-grade and timely meeting of the users’ requirements involving new technologies development of Electronic Library introduction of virtual services in the reference support updating the digital Repository of the BSMU and refinement of the Library web-site stock.
  
SPECIAL LIBRARY OF MEDICAL LITERATURE
Lending Library of Study Materials
 
Service hours: 9.00-18.00

The Head of the Department
       A Lending Library of Literature for Study provides domestic students of the University with textbooks and manuals every term. The stock of books amounts to 93 thousand volumes.
       At the Universal Students’ Lending Library home students can borrow learning material for the term of 3 days. The stock of books is more than 23 thousand volumes.
 
THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT
Electronic Reference Room No. 1 and Students’ Reference Room No. 2
 
Service hours: 9.00-18.00
Days off: Saturday, Sunday

       The branch provides attendance to the users and arranging the book fund. Book fund amounts 12 thousand copies of textbooks, study materials and scientific monographs in Ukrainian Russian and English
       More than 2 thousand users are attended to, including almost 500 foreign students

The Head of the Department – Pyslar Dina Semenivna
        The total fund amounts about 200 thousand copies of scientific, study, socio-political, belles-lettres editions, more than 40 thousand dissertation abstracts. Almost 1 100 users are attended to.
SPECIAL LIBRARY OF MEDICAL LITERATURE
Lending Library and Reference Room for the Foreign Students
 
Service hours: 12.00-20.00
Day off: Saturday, Sunday
The last day of the month is a sanitary day

        Every term mass lending of literature for study  to foreign students is held at the Lending Library.

  Valuable scientific books can be borrowed for several days in addition to the set .
       The stock of books at the Lending Library amounts toabout 6 thousand volumes in English.
       The number of subscribers is more than 1000 students.
       The foreign students are provided with a spacious Rearing Room for study.
